President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has assured the public that hospitals and health emergency response teams are on alert for the observance of Undas, with government agencies and local government units (LGUs) coordinating to ensure a swift response to emergencies and other incidents.
In his video message ahead of the annual observance, President Marcos said the government is strengthening its emergency preparedness to ensure that Filipinos visiting cemeteries, traveling to their home provinces, and attending public gatherings can receive immediate assistance when needed.
“Nakaalerto ang ating mga ospital at health emergency teams. Patuloy rin ang koordinasyon ng mga ahensya ng pamahalaan at lokal na pamahalaan upang mabilis na makatugon sa anumang insidente,” the President said.
The emergency preparedness measures form part of the government’s broader efforts to ensure a safe, orderly, and convenient Undas observance, as thousands of families are expected to travel and visit their departed loved ones.
The President also urged the public to exercise caution during their travels, follow safety regulations in cemeteries, and cooperate with authorities to help prevent accidents and other untoward incidents.
President Marcos reminded Filipinos that the emergency hotline 911 is available for immediate assistance, while official social media pages of concerned government agencies – Department of Transportation, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Health, Metro Manila Development Authority, Philippine National Police and the Bureau of Fire Protection – will provide important public advisories and information.
“Nariyan ang 911 para sa mga emergency, at ang mga official pages ng DOTr, DPWH, DOH, MMDA, PNP, at BFP para ipakalat ang mahahalagang impormasyon,” the President added.
