A total of 47 young achievers from various districts of Tripura were conferred with the prestigious Rajya Puraskar during the 77th Foundation Day celebrations of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, hosted by the state unit at the Durbar Hall of Lok Bhavan in Agartala. Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu attended the event as the chief guest to present the state’s highest scouting honors.
Delivering the key address, the Governor reflected on the evolving role of youth development initiatives in the digital age:
“in today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world, the values of Scouting and Guiding are more relevant than ever. While young people are learning to embrace modern technology, this movement also instils timeless values such as discipline, empathy, teamwork and self-reliance. He said that Scouting and Guiding are not merely about camping, outdoor activities or learning practical skills, but fundamentally about building character and developing a spirit of service. True leadership, he emphasised, lies in serving others.”
During his speech, the Governor highlighted the humanitarian efforts of the state’s scout network, specifically praising their frontline involvement during recent flood rescue and relief operations across Tripura. He further commended their ongoing engagement in civic campaigns, including cleanliness drives under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan across public spaces, blood donation drives, afforestation efforts, anti-tobacco awareness, and road safety enforcement.
Recognizing the adult leaders shaping the organization, he identified the Scout and Guide Captains as the “unsung heroes” driving the movement forward.
Addressing the recipients directly, the Governor noted that achieving the Rajya Puraskar represents a major milestone that reflects years of sustained effort, skill acquisition, community involvement, and adherence to the Scout Oath and Code of Conduct.
The event was attended by senior government officials, including U.K. Chakma, Secretary to the Governor, and Paimong Mog, Joint Director of the Youth Affairs and Sports Department.
