Three Tripura Youths Secure Overseas Jobs as Machine Operators in Dubai After Skill Training Under MMDUP

AGARTALA — Marking a major milestone for Tripura’s skill development initiatives, three local youths have secured international employment as Machine Operators with Balmer Lawrie’s production unit in Dubai.

The candidates—Abhay Debnath from Chandrapur, Agartala; Sanjit Das from Mohorcharra, Teliamura; and Ripon Das from Udaipur—achieved this milestone after successfully completing a specialized training program under the Chief Minister’s Skill Development Project (MMDUP).

Key Highlights of the Achievement

  • Rigorous Training Model: The candidates completed an intensive 80-day program comprising 480 hours of hands-on training in petrochemical operations and machinery handling at the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Agartala.

  • Lucrative Compensation: The selected candidates will start with an initial average monthly salary of approximately Rs. 65,000, which is expected to rise to about Rs. 96,000 within six months based on performance-linked increments.

  • Bridging Local Talent and Global Demands: Implemented via the Directorate of Skill Development, the MMDUP initiative aims to equip local youth with industry-aligned technical skills, proving that short-term, targeted training can successfully transition candidates from local classrooms to global industrial careers.

The Directorate of Skill Development has congratulated the successful candidates, expressing hope that their accomplishments will inspire many more young people across the state to leverage MMDUP training programs for domestic and international career opportunities.
