DARE–ICAR Special Campaign 6.0 Clears 8,000 National Sites, Generates Over ₹14 Lakh in Scrap Sales

NEW DELHI — The Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) together with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) concluded Special Campaign 6.0, surpassing initial target goals across their national network of facilities.

The nationwide initiative targeted roughly 8,000 locations under the jurisdiction of DARE–ICAR, focusing on workplace organization, sanitation, and institutional efficiency. The operational drive led to the disposal of over 13,000 obsolete physical and digital records. Scrap monetization efforts earned more than ₹14 lakh in revenue while reclaiming over 4,000 square feet of usable office area.

The campaign encompassed a variety of operational tasks, including file digitization, paper management, tree planting, e-waste processing, and scrap disposal. Staff members cleared waste from administrative offices as well as adjacent experimental farms, fields, and roadways. Segregation measures were emphasized to ensure metal and plastic refuse were separated from organic and general waste.

Beyond physical cleanup, participating institutions organized community awareness programs and provided complimentary medical camps across multiple locations. The organization also recognized the contributions of sanitation staff, known as Safai Mitras, throughout the operational period.
