Governor Distributes Poultry and Ducklings to Empower Local Self-Help Groups

As part of an initiative to strengthen rural livelihoods and promote women’s economic
empowerment, Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu distributed ducklings and
chicks among members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) from Bijaynagar Gram Panchayat
under Mohanpur Rural Development Block at Lok Bhavan in Agartala this morning. The
initiative aims to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural women through
backyard duck and poultry farming. The distribution of ducklings and chicks is expected
to help SHG members generate additional income and strengthen their financial
independence. U. K. Chakma, Secretary to the Governor, was also present at the
programme. The information was shared by Lok Bhavan.
