Tripura Marches Toward ‘Digital Tripura’ with Launch of NextGen HRMS Service

Agartala, September 8: Continuing its efforts to build a tech-driven, transparent, and efficient governance structure, the Government of Tripura launched the NextGen HRMS (Human Resource Management System) service at Pragna Bhavan today.

Inaugurating the initiative, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy stated that following the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Digital India’ initiative, Tripura is steadily advancing toward becoming a ‘Digital Tripura’. He noted that e-Office systems have already been rolled out across all government offices in the state.

The newly launched NextGen HRMS platform will serve as a centralized digital database, recording the entire service journey of government employees—from their initial date of joining to their retirement. Key advantages of the system include:

  • Efficient Pension Processing: Retirement pension calculations and workflows can now be completed accurately within a significantly shorter timeframe.

  • Digital Leave Management: Employees can apply for leave online, which will automatically update and maintain their official digital service books.

  • Enhanced Data Security: Data belonging to every government servant will remain securely stored and managed digitally.

During the ceremony, the Finance Minister alongside key officials also formally released the New Pension Proposal Rule Book, the DDO’s Handbook, and several new functional modules under the portal.

Addressing the event, Secretary of the Finance Department Dr. Prashant Kumar Goyal detailed the technical capabilities and security aspects of the system. Additional Secretary Akinchan Sarkar delivered the welcome address. The event was attended by high-ranking dignitaries including Principal Accountant General Shailendra Vikram Singh, Accountant General Ranendra Sarkar, Senior Deputy Accountant General Tanushree Biswas, and officials from the Finance Department and the National Informatics Centre (NIC). A short documentary showcasing the features of the NextGen HRMS was also screened during the programme.
