Dubai, September 5: India Women produced a commanding bowling performance before completing a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Pakistan Women in the DP World Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 at the Dubai International Stadium.
Put into bat after India chose to bowl, Pakistan struggled to build momentum and were bowled out for just 55 runs in 18.1 overs. Muneeba Ali and Shawaal Zulfiqar initially gave Pakistan some stability, putting together 27 runs for the opening wicket. However, India’s bowlers quickly took control after the first breakthrough.
India’s spin attack proved particularly effective. Sree Charani finished with an impressive 3 wickets for 7 runs from four overs, while Prema Rawat claimed 3 for 9. Experienced all-rounder Deepti Sharma added two wickets for just five runs, further restricting Pakistan’s scoring. Shafali Verma also picked up a wicket as Pakistan’s innings collapsed.
India needed only 56 runs to win and completed the chase in 8.4 overs, reaching 57 for 3.
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana was the most successful bowler for her side, taking all three Indian wickets. She dismissed Shafali Verma for 12, Pratika Rawal for 4 and Smriti Mandhana for 9.
However, there was little further resistance as Harmanpreet Kaur remained unbeaten on 18 from 18 balls, while Deepti Sharma finished not out on 12. The pair added an unbeaten 28-run partnership to take India across the finish line.
